'What can I do about it?'

by Adam New

We have spoken to many flat owners over the past few months and there is one question we are asked more than most; ‘What can I do about it?’

Despite the different concerns we hear, such as ‘my service charges are to high’ or ‘when I report something nothing seems to happen’ it is always followed by the thought that a single property owner can do nothing about it. This is simply not true.

The actual method of changing a block manager will differ depending on the circumstances. However, a number of methods can be utilised by a single property owner to achieve a change in management. Even where a common consensus or majority is required it is often the case that the concerns experienced by a single property owner will be shared.

At New Estate Management we understand the residential leasehold sector better than most which means that we can provide you with professional advice specific to your situation. What's more, we put our money where our mouth is. If there are costs to be incurred in changing a managing agent, or even just finding out the views of your fellow property owners, we will bear those costs.

So if you're experiencing problems with your block manager do not thing there is nothing you can do. Get in contact for an informal chat.
